Careers at The Bot Forge
We are (and enjoy working with) people who build real AI systems -- not demos or proofs of concept, or fancy diagrams on LinkedIn, but production systems that serve millions of users. If you care about solving actual business problems with AI, we're always open to chat.
What drives us
Working on production systems
Deploying AI that serves real customers at scale.
Solving real problems
Clients come to us with actual business challenges: support costs too high, manual processes don't scale, data trapped in documents. We see technology as a creative tool to solve these problems.
Learning by doing
This is a field that moves very quickly, and our motto is to 'Move Fast and Make Things'.
Owning our work
From discovery to deployment, taking a consultative approach to design a solution, seeing it through and nailing the last 5% is critical.
Flexibility and curiosity
We all wear several hats and don't get hung up about the finer points of job descriptions. We're here to roll up sleeves and fail at something new.
Small teams with big impact
We like working directly with clients, not layers of management. Decisions that we make matter and shipping code counts.
The people we work best with
Technical depth
You understand how AI systems work -- not just APIs, but architectures, trade-offs, failure modes. You can debug production issues at 2am.
Business pragmatism
You care about ROI. If automation doesn't save time or money, you'll say so. You design for 80-95% automation with human oversight, not perfection.
Clear communication
You can explain technical decisions to non-technical clients. You write clear documentation. You ask questions when requirements are unclear.
Ownership mindset
You take responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks. If something breaks in production, you fix it. If a client is confused, you clarify.
Continuous learning
AI moves fast. You stay current. You experiment with new tools. You share what you learn with the team.
Our working style
Remote-first, async communication
Distributed across UK and Europe. Most communication is async (Slack, docs, recorded demos). Meetings are for decisions, not status updates.
Iterative, not waterfall
Build MVPs, test with real users, iterate. Avoid big-bang projects that fail. Ship small, learn fast, improve continuously.
Transparent and direct
Direct feedback gets to the best answer most quickly. Honest conversations about what's working and what isn't. We disagree, commit, and move forward.
Client-focused
Clients pay for outcomes, not hours. We measure success by time saved, costs reduced, quality improved. If we're not delivering value, we change course.
Technical excellence
Code reviews, testing, monitoring, documentation. We build systems that run 24/7 for years. Quality matters -- both for clients and for our own sanity maintaining systems.
